Add Netreo main appliance to service engine administration.

To have a way to move devices to the main appliance.

To show status of the appliance as a "service engine"

status,name,type,active devices,software version,last update,Logs/s,Flows/s

I see, the the reason for listing the appliance in the same section as the service engines is to be able to see which devices are assigned to services engines and which ones are assigned to the primary appliance. Also would be able to see update status, logs, and flows being consumed.

So I see two enhancements we can make:

    1. 'None' option for "Assign Devices to to Service Engines" should be 'Primary Appliance' option and for clarity the action button should read something like "Assign Devices for Polling"

    2. On the Service Engine Administration page, in the Stand Alone Service Engins section, add a section for the Primary Appliance and display the same columns as are shown for Service Engines. Of course there will be no actions buttons available.

    Thoughts?

Yes I see under "Assign Devices to Service Engines" there is a option to assign to ' None'.

Looking for 1 place to see where my devices are being polled from.

Since the appliance can potentially be doing polling and trap/logs, it would be great to see that in 1 place.

The Primary appliance is capable of performing all the same polling that Service Engines can in an On-prem environment. We do have a concept of "Assigning" devices to a Service Engine. This can manually be done for groups of Devices in Administration > System > Service Engines. It is possible to use this same menu to assign the Devices to the Primary appliance using the "None" option in the dropdown.

Another part of this request sounds like you want the ability to see the metrics we see for Service Engines on the Primary appliance. Currently the closest way to do that is to look in Administration > System > Diagnostics on the primary. This would not include some of the details though, like Logs/s and Flows/s

Could you please provide more input on the problem you are currently experiencing with managing device assignments for the primary appliance and status information that you need?
